I currently work as a business consultant supporting start-ups and SMEs (small and medium-sized enterprises) in developing and commercialising technology-led environmental solutions. With a PhD and over 20 years' experience in senior management roles, I have also worked more recently as an organisation design and change management specialist.

My Fellowship was focused on crossing the Greenlandic ice cap (east to west), while monitoring ozone depletion in this Arctic region. The expedition was aimed at developing a novice team to acquire the necessary skiing, kiting, mountaineering and survival skills to undertake the trip, at the same time maintaining the rigour needed to complete vital environmental research. It significantly extended my understanding of leadership and team dynamics and helped draw attention to global warming and the impact on ice caps and glaciers beyond Antarctica. This was far less understood then, than it is now.

I have always had an adventurous spirit, I love the outdoors and I am passionate about the environment. Through speaking engagements and mentoring throughout my career, I hope that the enthusiasm the Fellowship helped unlock in me has inspired others to undertake similar projects.
