I am the Owner/MD of Water at Work Ltd, a provider of water coolers and spring water to the business and domestic market, with local and national clients.

My Fellowship back in 1987 investigated the development and operation of combined shopping and leisure centres in the UK, through an understanding of the North American experience based on interviews with operators and developers. The purpose was to bring knowledge and information back to the UK that would help with investment and management decisions. I was employed by Bass PLC at the time.

I care professionally to help make sensible and prudent investments and I care socially that investments will benefit wider society in the long term, with appropriate sustainable work opportunities generated.

As a result of my Fellowship, I worked in the shopping and leisure industry for many years and saw the growth in opportunities. Obviously over the subsequent 40+ years, the nature of shopping and leisure has changed dramatically, and I hope that the social benefit to society, of the industry, is not lost due to commercial interests and online shopping.

Whilst my work now, as MD of Water at Work, is in a different arena, the importance of kindness and community that I took from my Fellowship, underpin my company ethos.
