I am a project director at the Department for Education. The main topic of my Fellowship was science, technology, engineering, and maths (STEM) teacher recruitment in areas such as Silicon Valley where there is very high competition for employees with skills in those fields.
I used the findings of my Fellowship to develop UK teacher recruitment policy and research. I have an ongoing interest in teacher recruitment and professional practice, STEM in schools, the school estate and public sector strategy in general.
The Fellowship helped me develop an internationalist and collaboration-driven approach to these issues.
