Biography

During my Fellowship I travelled to seven EU countries to investigate the operation of the Common Agricultural Policy, particularly in the marketing of cereals. On my return, I discussed my research on BBC's Farming Today, and as part of my keynote speech to the British Agricultural Research Group conference.

Through the contacts gained as part of my Fellowship I have also represented sectors of the food industry at Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (MAFF) meetings and the European Commission in Brussels. The Fellowship also supported my career by helping me in my role as Senior Buyer for Lyons. In 1986 I became Non-Executive Director of Home Grown Cereals and later, in 1992, a director of the Lead Aid Board.

I have also worked as managing director for two companies, including Europower Management Ltd with my late husband. With him, I also became involved in the City of London Livery, becoming Liveryman of The Worshipful Company of Marketers in 1998. Although officially retired, I am active in City organisations. In 2010, I became President of the City Livery Club. I joined the Aldgate Ward Club and became President in 2015.
