Biography

I am a retired vice-president of drug safety and pharmacovigilance from large and mid-size pharma. I currently have my own consulting company.

My Fellowship was granted in 1990 for work on smoking cessation and health promotion. My career has taken me in a very different direction into research and development in the pharmaceutical industry. However, although I have worked in pharmacovigilance for 30 years, in many ways prevention and health promotion have been very much at the heart of my work.

The Covid-19 pandemic and the health promotion around it – increasing public awareness of signs and symptoms, providing information about the benefits of vaccination – is a good example of what I have always been passionate about.
