New Churchill Fellows announced for 2020
On 5 March we announce 141 new Churchill Fellows who will travel the world in search of innovative solutions for the UK's most pressing problems. They will visit a total of 51 countries in 6 continents, with a mission to inspire change in their professions and communities when they return.
As ever, our 2020 Fellows include people from all parts of UK society, looking at many of the key issues that face the UK – ranging from climate change to suicide prevention, domestic abuse to urban design.

Together the 2020 Fellows will receive grants totalling over £1,050,000 and each person will have the opportunity to spend up to two months overseas, researching practical innovations that can be actioned in the UK.
The 2020 Fellows have been awarded Fellowships in the following fields:
- Arts, crafts and design for the built environment
- Education
- Emergency response
- Enterprise for social impact
- Environment, conservation and sustainable living
- Healthcare for the 21st century
- Palliative and end of life care
- Physical activity: making moves for healthier lives
- Rural living: strengthening countryside communities
- Science, technology and engineering
- Suicide: prevention, intervention and postvention
- Open
Everyone can apply for a Churchill Fellowship, regardless of age, background or qualifications, as long as they are a UK citizen aged 18 or over. Applications for travel in 2021 have been paused.
