Biography

I am an associate professor in psychology at the Department of Psychology, Kingston University London. My research interests focus on understanding the pathophysiology of schizophrenia using clinical, cognitive and neuroimaging techniques. I have published work widely and presented at national and international conferences.

Being awarded the Fellowship was an incredible opportunity to work with scientists in Japan and at the University of California, San Diego to understand the relationship between brain abnormalities (using multimodal neuroimaging techniques including positron emission tomography, diffusion tensor imaging, and functional MRI) and specific cognitive abilities, such as working memory, in individuals with psychosis. I learnt about novel neuroimaging analysis methods and applied this to several datasets, which led to high-impact publications.

Since the Fellowship, I have organised educational (public) events, established solid collaborative links with expert scientists (which led to grant submissions and publications) and applied the imaging analysis approach learnt through this Fellowship on newly funded projects on psychosis.
